Congratulations to the newly elected 2010-2011 Triangle AMA Board. The new board returns 14 Board members and welcomes six new members:.

The new board will begin its term on July 1.

 

CMO and Email Panels

March CMO Panel featured:

  • Jim Davis, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at SAS
  • Rohit Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer for Genworth’s US Mortgage Insurance Business
  • Tom Barbitta, Vice President of Marketing for Carolina Beverage Corporation
  • Kevin McAteer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company

The panel provided great insight and reflection on how to learn from the recent economic downturn and opportunities that were unveiled during the past year. Some of the discussion centered around the rise of social media and how companies are dealing with new channels of customer communication. Other toics included how each company has appoached integrating social media into marketing; challenges of a B2B2C campaign and branding.

April Email Marketing Panel
The April Email panel featured:

Sam Matheny is General Manager of News Over Wireless, which is part of CBC New Media Group, LLC. CBC New Media Group is a division of Capitol Broadcasting Company with three principle areas of operation: digital television, Internet, and mobile wireless. Sam's focus is on strategic media applications, where he is currently engaged with mobile wireless content delivery.

Amy Boaz is the Interactive Marketing Manager at Lenovo, where she oversees North America's Display and PC Vertical interactive marketing efforts. Amy's thirteen-year interactive marketing career encompasses display, search, email and mobile tactics.

Jeremy Cid is the Co-Founder and Marketing Director for Bee Appi. He oversees the day to day operations of each app development contract, as well as each proprietary application. He educates clients and helps develop an effective strategy for knowing and reaching each client’s target demographic. Jeremy has also involved himself in the local community by giving marketing and business development lectures at Wake Tech, Durham Tech and NC State University.

Cord Silverstein is Executive Vice President of Interactive Communications at Capstrat and will be moderating the panel. Cord pioneered online marketing for Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, MetLife, Verizon and Dell. Cord oversaw online marketing programs for Lowes Home Improvement, Motorola and CitiFinancial. Cord is an active speaker on social media and currently serves as the leader of the Triangle AMA's monthly Social Media Special Interest Group. New Direct Marketing SIG

The Direct Marketing SIG will focus on B2B and B2C Direct Marketing. The group is for members who want to discuss trends, address challenges and share best practices in Direct Marketing. The focus will be how to efficiently and effectively reach new prospects and retain/upsell current customers using direct mail and email marketing. The Direct Marketing SIG will meet at 8 am on the 1st Friday of each month at Capstrat. The first meeting was on March 5th. The next meeting will be Friday, May 7th at 8 AM at Capstrat.
