Hosted by Triangle American Marketing Association

Raleigh, NC – April 7, 2008 – More than ever, consumers are turning to social media outlets such as MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube for interaction and entertainment. This trend has a significant impact on how local businesses engage with their current and prospective customers. Luckily, help is on the way to better understanding the in’s and out’s of this rapidly-growing series of social media networks.

The Triangle American Marketing Association is hosting a one-day learning event that will bring businesspeople up to speed on the rapidly evolving world of social media marketing and focus on practical, real world applications in a collaborative and participatory atmosphere.

Two area experts, Jim Tobin, president of Ignite Social Media, and Julia Storberg-Walker, a professor N.C. State University, will share their extensive knowledge on social networks and social media marketing.

The workshop will cover:

  • A social media assessment along with 11 types of social media and 5 most common mistakes people make in social media;

  • How to use each of the 11 types of social media (practical examples and success stories) and putting social media to work for your business.
