Triangle Businesses Connect to a Whole New World
Area Professionals Learn Benefits of Marketing in Virtual Worlds

Raleigh, NC – April 2, 2008 – What if you could take your business to a whole new level? What about a whole new world? Triangle marketing and business professionals are finding new audiences in virtual worlds such as Second Life, an online, virtual world imagined and created by its residents, who number in the millions.

These virtual worlds continue to grow with increased mainstream media attention. But, what exactly are virtual worlds and how can real-world businesses begin to access the potential of reaching millions of virtual residents from around the globe?

The Triangle American Marketing Association is hosting a luncheon on Thursday, April 17 that will provide attendees with an overview of virtual worlds, highlight specific examples of how virtual worlds are being used by businesses such as MTV, Toyota, and Starwood Hotels today, and discuss key points to consider about this emerging market.

Jennifer Martin, Creative Director of the IBM Center for Solution Innovation, will lead the presentation.

Martin has deep expertise in interaction and experience design, information architecture, usability and accessibility, globalization, content strategy, technical and creative writing, and multimedia production. She has delivered innovative solutions to clients across all industries and across multiple channels such as web sites, handheld devices, kiosks, and virtual worlds.

The Triangle American Marketing Association (AMA) Luncheon takes place Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Brier Creek Country Club (9400 Club Hill Drive, Raleigh, NC 27617).
