Triangle American Marketing Association Receives Chapter of Excellence Award

Raleigh, NC, December 2, 2008 – The Professional Chapters Council and the Professional Chapters Division of the American Marketing Association (AMA) recently announced the Triangle Chapter of the AMA as the 2007-08 Turnaround Chapter of the Year — a distinctive honor from the Chapter of Excellence Awards Program.

“The Triangle Chapter had a truly outstanding year, demonstrating the most significant improvement across all areas of chapter management and operations,” says DJ Heckes, Chairperson for the Chapter of Excellence Awards. “It is rewarding to see everything that can be achieved by such a hard-working group of talented volunteers,” she says.

“The Board of Directors of the Triangle AMA have been very focused on ensuring our membership receives high-quality, educational programming that enables them to perform at an even higher level in their careers,” says Eric Schmidt, Past President of the Triangle Chapter. “This national award is great recognition of that effort and the impact it is having for our more than 375 members.”

The Triangle AMA will receive a monetary award along with a podium banner citing the award.

Heckes adds, “We hope it serves as a constant reminder of the growing strength of the chapter and is a source of pride for the entire membership.”

The entry will also be on display at the Leadership Summit meeting in Chicago April 24-26.

With members including Fortune 500 executives, small business owners, and students, the chapter is organized to provide value to the Triangle area’s marketers by connecting people and providing educational programming and professional resources.
