Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price to attend a Chapter Function?

Our monthly Lunch and Learn Programs are priced as follows:
Early Registration: Student Members- $20, Student Non-Members $25, Members - $25, Non-Members - $35. Late registrations (after 12 noon the Monday the week of the meeting) or walk-ups will be charged an additional $10. Our networking socials are free to members and non-members and our workshop prices vary so review the events calendar for event updates and pricing.

What happens if I decide to walk up to a meeting?

We understand that some people don't know if they can attend a meeting until the day of the event. We will make every effort to accommodate you with a seat and food at our meetings, but we cannot make any guarantees. We encourage people to RSVP to info@triangleama.org as soon as your schedule permits.

Why do you charge a walk up fee?

We try to be as flexible as possible and allow as many people as possible to attend our monthly meetings. However, our host facilities require a headcount several days before the event in order to properly prepare the room and order the food. Additional headcount often results in an additional charge by the hosting facility to our Chapter. To offset this charge, and the additional administrative time involved, we initiated this fee.

Can non-members attend Triangle AMA meetings?

Yes, unless an event is specified as a members-only event.

Can I just join the Triangle AMA without joining the National Chapter?

Membership to the American Marketing Association requires you to join on a National level. You can choose not to join a local Chapter; however, the single greatest benefit from joining the AMA is the ability to network with marketing professionals in your area.

What are the local benefits of membership and why should I join?

The Triangle AMA has worked hard to build on the value of Chapter membership. Here are some of the member-only benefits that you can take advantage of once you decide to join our award-winning Chapter:

Board Involvement – All of our committees allow marketing professionals the opportunity to introduce themselves to the Triangle's "movers and shakers". We target executive-level marketing professionals from the area's highest-profile companies to address our association at our monthly meetings. Can you think of a better way to get in front of the CEO of a Fortune 500 company? Let the credibility of the AMA work for you!

Job Opportunities
– Only members are allowed to post resumes in the Job Bank. It's a great way to get yourself in front of recruiters and area companies and get your foot in the door early!

Special Interest Groups (SIGs
) – We have a variety of SIGs that allow you to further develop and showcase your particular areas of marketing expertise. By meeting and interacting with other professionals who share an interest in specific marketing specialties, you will expand the possibilities for professional enrichment.

What are the national benefits of membership?

When are your monthly meetings held and where?

Our meeting locations vary, but we typically hold our meetings every third Thursday of the month, except July. To see a list of our upcoming events, visit our events calendar.

What do membership dues cover, and how does the Chapter use the $50 they receive from National AMA?

Your national membership covers the many resources available to you in both print and online. Several of your national membership benefits have been covered above. For more information about member benefits, you can visit www.ama.org.

The $50 you pay for Triangle membership allows us to pay for special events and networking socials that might not otherwise be covered through corporate sponsorships or donations. We are constantly setting money into our reserve so that we may have the option of attracting a high-profile speakers to our area and other member benefits.

How do I get additional information about the Triangle AMA?

You can get additional information about our Chapter by contacting the Chapter's association manager, Paola Ribadeneira at Randolph E. Cloud Associates, at info@triangleama.org or you can contact the Chapter's VP of Membership at membership@rtiangleama.org.
